When is the Best Time to Visit Uganda?

The best time to visit Uganda are dry seasons from June to August and December to February for wildlife watching in all parks. The weather is warm and full of sunshine. The yearly average temperature is 22.3℃(73℉). The animals gather around rivers or water holes and are easily to spot.

What to See in Uganda for First Time Travelers?

Generally speaking, 6-8 days are needed to visit the main parks of Uganda. After your arrival at Entebbe, stay overnight in Kampala or have a half-day sightseeing tour. The gorilla trekking in Bwindi and chimpanzees trekking in Kibale are unique experiences as you get up close with them and take incredible photos. Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison National Park are particularly highlights for wonderful wildlife safaris, picturesque landscapes, exciting Nile cruise and waterfalls. If you want to explore more in Uganda, another 2 days at Lake Mburo National Park and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary are recommended.

Do I Need a Visa for Uganda Tours?

Yes. Only of a few countries enjoy visa exemption to Uganda. The citizens of most countries are required to apply for and obtain Electronic Visa online for traveling. It is suggested to check the visa process and fees on official website of Uganda Immigration Control or local Uganda Embassy before your trip.

How to Get to and Travel Around Uganda?

The Entebbe International Airport (EBB) is the main entry point for international flights to Uganda, about 46km/29min away from the capital, Kampala. There are international flights to Entebbe operated by reputable airlines from Istanbul, Amsterdam, Addis Ababa, Doha and so on. Domestic flights are rare and the railway traffic is not well-developed, so the vehicle transfer is the most popular way between cities or parks.

What's the Gorilla Trekking Permit in Uganda?

The Trekking Permit is a license released by Uganda Wildlife Authority to track mountain gorillas. The participants on Gorilla Trekking in Uganda must be at least 15 years old and in good health condition. Do I Need to Bring an Adaptor to Uganda?

The standard voltage and frequency in Uganda is 240V/50HZ. The power plugs and sockets are of Type G (three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern). If the standard voltage in your country ranges from 100V-127V, like USA, Canada and most American countries, the adaptor is required to charge electric appliances. For Australia, Europe and the most Asian and African countries, the voltage is fit, for it is 220V- 240V.
